We Learn Education Center Classes

Prevent the “summer slide” and take advantage of the “summer growth” opportunity. Camp is for students entering Kindergarten up to 3rd grade in the fall. It runs Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9am-12noon. We include 30 minutes of individual tutoring plus small group reading comprehension, writing, plus camp fun with science and arts and crafts.

Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia is a reading and spelling curriculum written by the Center for Dyslexia at Texas Scottish Rite for Children. Take Flight contains the five components of effective reading instruction: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension. A student does not need to have a diagnosis to receive these services.

One-on-one tutoring with a reading teacher. These sessions are individualized based on assessment data and designed to meet the unique needs of the student, ages 5-adult. Increase skills in phonemic awareness, alphabet knowledge, phonics, spelling, reading comprehension, vocabulary and/or multisyllabic and derivative word reading/spelling.

Early Intervention classes are for students who do not know all of their letter names and sounds. We teach phonological awareness, letter names and sounds. Each student will be assessed to determine their learning needs, then an intervention plan will guide the tutoring sessions.

One-on-one tutoring with a math teacher. These sessions are individualized by the teacher to meet the needs of the student.
