Individualized Reading Tutoring

One-on-one tutoring with a reading teacher. These sessions are individualized by the teacher to meet the needs of the student. Each student will be assessed to determine their reading/spelling needs, then an intervention plan will guide the tutoring sessions.

Individualized Math Tutoring

One-on-one tutoring with a math teacher. These sessions are individualized by the teacher to meet the needs of the student.

Dyslexia Therapy using Take Flight

Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia is a reading and spelling curriculum written by the Center for Dyslexia at Texas Scottish Rite for Children. Take Flight contains the five components of effective reading instruction: Phonemic Awareness, Phonics, Fluency, Vocabulary, and Reading Comprehension. Take Flight was designed for use by CALTs for individuals with dyslexia ages 7 and older. The pace of the program will depend on the needs of the student.

Early Intervention

Early Intervention classes are for students who do not know all of their letter names and sounds. We teach phonological awareness, letter names and sounds. We use Navigate Kindergarten, a pre-reading curriculum from Payne Education Center, and other resources to teach this class.

Japanese Language & Culture

Learn the Japanese language and culture with our teacher, Ms. Jenni, who used to live in Japan! Individual sessions meet 2-3 times per week to help you learn the language well.
