My name is Crystal Whelan. I am Certified Academic Language Therapist (Dyslexia Therapist), Certified Reading Specialist,  Certified Special Education Teacher and the owner of We Learn Education Center. I have taught special education for 13 years, started tutoring in 2020, and became a CALT in 2024. I love helping students learn to read. I specialize in teaching struggling  readers, including those with dyslexia, ADHD, and/or autism, ages 5 and up. We use the Take Flight curriculum to provide one-on-one dyslexia therapy.  Hello! I am grateful to be a team member at We Learn. Teaching students on Individualized Education Plans at the elementary and middle school grades has given me the chance to implement various interventions to meet students learning needs. I enjoy collaborating as a team with coworkers and parents while also getting to know and help students. I look forward to the continued opportunity to grow as a teacher and be a part of student learning at We Learn!  

My name is Marcie VanHoose, and I am a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience teaching students of all ages and abilities. I hold certifications as a Reading Specialist and Special Education Teacher, and I am currently completing my training to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist, which I will achieve in May 2025.

Helping students unlock their potential as confident, skilled readers is my passion. I especially cherish those "ah-ha" moments when a student truly grasps and applies the skills they’ve learned. Over the years, I’ve discovered that the most effective approach for teaching struggling readers is through the Take Flight curriculum.

Hello! My name is Candice Miller. I am a former high school English teacher. For the past eight years, I have worked as an RSA reading interventionist for kindergarten through third grade students at Bixby Public Schools. I enjoy working with young learners as they develop their reading skills. Witnessing their hard work and growth is a rewarding experience.

 Hello, my name is Jenni from Japan! 😁 I grew up in Japan until I was 19 and loved every minute of it! I have taught math and Japanese since 2005 and thoroughly enjoy both. I want students to discover that math is not a four letter word and can actually be fun! I so look forward to meeting all of you! 

Hello, my name is Toni. I have worked at Bixby Schools as a Special Education Paraprofessional for over 10 years. I have training in Autism, Down Syndrome, and behavioral interventions. I have also worked in retail management, human resources, and marketing. I enjoy applying all of these skills at We Learn with students and families.
